Melting and heat convection on a Daruma

The leftmost picture represents the evolution of the temperature field with time. The boundary of the domain is set to a cold temperature of 0 degrees. The mouth of the mask is heated up to 4 degrees. The temperature of the left eye is 3 degrees, whilst the temperature of the the right eye is set to 2 degrees. The melting temperature above which the solid material melts is chosen to be 1 degree. The rightmost picture represents the evolution of the phase field the blends solid and liquid phases (the fully liquid material is red). It also shows the flow of fluid that develop within the liquid phase, under the action of a buoyancy force driven by the temperature gradient.
